## How to play Neon Swarm

On a touch screen, drag from any point in the arena to steer with a virtual joystick; the ship moves relative to your finger rather than jumping under it. Hold and move the mouse, or use WASD and arrow keys on desktop. Shots fire automatically at nearby enemies. Each defeat grants experience, and purple drops give extra energy when collected. Fill the meter to choose one of three upgrades. Every eight kills charge a Pulse: tap its button or press Space to damage and push away nearby enemies. Survive all three waves with at least one heart.

## Neon Swarm scoring

Basic chasers start at 10 points, with a small bonus as your uninterrupted kill streak grows. Fast sprinters award 15, armored tanks 30, elites 90 and the final boss 160. You begin with three hearts; taking a hit briefly protects you from another and resets the streak. Wave two starts at 30 seconds with sprinters, and wave three starts at 60 with tanks. Completing a wave restores one heart up to your current maximum. Elites arrive at both transitions, followed by a final boss around 75 seconds.

## Neon Swarm strategy and tips

#### Choose a build

Rapid Fire reduces shot delay, Power Shot raises damage, Twin Shot adds another projectile, Wider Magnet reaches distant energy, Thrusters speed up movement and Repair Hull increases maximum health while healing. Your first level-up offers three offensive builds. Later choices vary, with a Power Shot option and Repair Hull included when you are down to one heart and it is available. Unspent energy carries into the next level.

#### Move with intent

Do not circle too close to enemies. Sweep through energy after a clear lane opens, then use the next upgrade to cover your weakness.

#### Replay for a better run

Your score and personal best remain on this device. Finish all three waves, clear the final boss if your build permits, or aim for a flawless run without taking a hit. A charged Pulse gives you one more tactical choice on each replay.

### A 90-second survival plan

#### Opening: earn a safe first upgrade

Start near the middle so there is room to move in every direction. Chasers are slow, but they can surround a ship that stays still. Keep a little space between you and the closest target. Kills already advance your level; collect the bonus drops when a path opens instead of diving into the crowd for a single pickup. On touch screens, keep your finger moving relative to its starting point to steer smoothly.

#### Middle: choose damage or breathing room

The first elite and faster sprinters appear around 30 seconds. If chasers need several hits, Power Shot helps clear them; Rapid Fire raises the number of shots. Twin Shot can cover a second nearby target. Wider Magnet is useful when energy drops are too risky to approach. Repair Hull raises maximum health and restores up to two hearts, so its value rises after a hit.

#### Finish: preserve an escape lane

Wave three brings tougher tanks and another elite. A boss follows around 75 seconds. Move through open space rather than pinning yourself against a corner. Your shots target nearby enemies and can change target if one falls. Save a charged Pulse until several enemies are close to the ship; it damages and pushes them back, creating an escape lane. Your run ends if health reaches zero, even with time left.

### Example decision

If you have one heart at a level-up, Repair Hull is often safer than another damage increase. With full health but a dense final wave ahead, faster fire, stronger shots or Twin Shot may help clear a route. If your Pulse is ready and an elite is close, activate it before the enemy reaches the ship. The best choice depends on your current build and position.

## Common Neon Swarm mistakes

- **Standing still.** Chasers are slow, but they surround a ship that stops moving.
- **Diving into a crowd for one energy drop.** Kills already level you up; collect drops when a lane opens.
- **Taking only damage upgrades.** With one heart left, Repair Hull is often the safer pick.
- **Using Pulse on a single enemy.** It does the most good when several enemies, or an elite, are close to the ship.
- **Backing into a corner in wave three.** Tanks and the boss need open space to get around.

## About Neon Swarm

Neon Swarm is a Tap Rush Arcade original, built as a compact take on the auto-shooter genre. You never aim, so every decision is about where to move and which upgrade to take. A whole run lasts 90 seconds, which makes it easy to try a different build each time.

The run is split into three waves that add sprinters and armoured tanks, with elites at each transition and a boss near the end. It plays with a keyboard, a mouse or a touch-screen joystick.

## Neon Swarm: questions and answers

### Do I need to aim?

No. The ship automatically fires at the nearest enemy. You control movement and upgrade choices.

### Does the timer stop while I choose an upgrade?

Yes. Enemies and the game clock wait while the upgrade choices are visible.

### Can I play on a phone?

Yes. Touch and drag to steer with a virtual joystick. The ship moves relative to your finger movement rather than jumping under it. Keyboard movement is available on desktop.

### Why is the ship shooting at a different enemy?

Auto-fire first targets the nearest enemy. A projectile can follow another enemy if its original target is defeated. Move so the threat you want to hit becomes the closest target.

### How do I collect energy safely?

Wait for a shot to open a path, then move near the purple drops. Every kill grants experience, while tanks and elites leave larger bonus drops. Nearby drops drift toward the ship; Wider Magnet increases the range.

### How do I use Pulse?

Defeat eight enemies to charge it. Tap the Pulse button or press Space; it damages and pushes back enemies near the ship. It charges again through more kills.

### How many waves are there?

Three waves last 30 seconds each. Each transition restores one heart. Sprinters appear in wave two, tanks in wave three, and the final boss arrives around 75 seconds.

### Can I pause a run?

Yes. Use the Pause control above the arena. The round timer and movement stop until you resume.
