How to play Star Forge
Tap the core to collect starlight, then spend it on stronger taps, passive harvesters, critical hits and Burst mastery. Every 12 manual taps charge an Overdrive burst that multiplies collection for several seconds. Milestones grant extra spending light. Your score counts all light collected, even after purchases.
You have one minute to build the best engine. Your personal best is saved locally in this browser.
Controls and round details
Tap or click the core and choose any affordable upgrade. Space collects when focus is outside a button; O activates charged Overdrive. Passive income does not add to the manual tap charge.
Star Forge scoring
Your score counts all starlight collected in 60 seconds, even after purchases. Critical hits trigger every fifth manual tap once upgraded. Burst mastery extends Overdrive and raises its multiplier. Milestones grant 15 extra light for your next purchase.
Buy harvesters early for lasting income, then use tap power and critical upgrades while actively collecting. Save a charged Overdrive for a stretch when you can tap repeatedly; Burst mastery makes that window more valuable.
Star Forge strategy and tips
- Buy the first tap upgrade early if you can keep tapping.
- Automatic harvesters pay off best when purchased with enough time left.
- Charge Overdrive with manual taps and spend its burst while you can keep collecting.
A 60-second upgrade decision
The first stronger tap costs 15 light. A harvester starts at 30 and keeps collecting while you plan. If you are tapping frequently, the tap upgrade can pay for the harvester sooner; if you need a pause, early passive income keeps the engine moving. Both prices rise after a purchase, so check the next cost before buying again.
A critical upgrade adds a bonus every fifth manual tap, while Burst mastery improves the Overdrive you earn after 12 manual taps. Activating Overdrive with only a few seconds left wastes part of its window. Watch the time, tap through the burst, and remember that spending light changes your wallet but never removes points already earned.
Common Star Forge mistakes
- Buying a harvester in the last seconds. Passive income needs time to pay back its cost.
- Starting Overdrive near the end. Part of its window is wasted if time runs out.
- Stopping to plan. Manual taps charge Overdrive and trigger critical hits.
- Worrying about spending. Purchases never lower your score, which counts every bit of light collected.
About Star Forge
Star Forge is a Tap Rush Arcade original that packs the build-up of an idle or clicker game into one minute. The challenge is choosing which upgrade pays back fastest in the time that is left.
Milestones add extra light for your next purchase, and Overdrive multiplies collection for a few seconds after every 12 manual taps.
Star Forge: questions and answers
Does spending light reduce my score?
No. It reduces your available light for purchases, while total collected starlight remains your score.
When does a critical tap happen?
Every fifth manual tap after buying a critical upgrade. More critical levels increase its bonus; Burst mastery instead improves Overdrive.
Should I tap or buy harvesters?
Early on, harvesters give income for the rest of the round. Later, tap and critical upgrades pay back faster as long as you keep tapping.
