About Tap Rush Arcade

Originals and classics for a short break, with clear rules and a reason to try one more round.

What Tap Rush Arcade is

Tap Rush Arcade is an independent website of free HTML5 games built for short breaks. It has 25 games: our own versions of the classics, two daily word puzzles, and original action, puzzle and strategy games you won’t find anywhere else. Every game runs in your browser and starts without a download or an account, on a phone, tablet or computer.

Who makes it

Tap Rush Arcade is designed, built and maintained by an independent IT engineer. Every game, guide and page is made for this site and tested before release: automated tests play each game on desktop and phone screen sizes, check that it starts, responds and finishes correctly, and confirm that the daily puzzles and scoring work as described in the guides.

The games

Classics. Deal a hand of Solitaire (Klondike, Draw 1 or Draw 3), work through Sudoku from Easy to Expert, clear a Minesweeper board, match tiles in Mahjong Solitaire, slide to 2048 or grow the longest Snake.

Word puzzles. Find the five-letter word in six guesses in Word Beacon, or sort sixteen words into four hidden groups in Word Links.

Originals. Survive three waves and a boss in Neon Swarm, defend three lanes in Circuit Siege, run a shop in Pocket Market, merge worlds in Cosmic Merge Drop or clear lines in Bloom Blocks, plus quick reflex, memory and attention games.

Browse everything by type: daily, classic, word, puzzle, action and strategy.

How the guides are written

Each game has its own page with the game at the top and a full guide underneath: how to play, how scoring works, strategy, common mistakes, the history of the classic games and answers to common questions. The guides are written from each game’s actual rules, so the numbers in them, such as points, timers and board sizes, match what happens in the game. When a game changes, its guide is updated and the date at the top of the guide changes with it.

Daily puzzles

Nine games have a shared daily challenge: Word Beacon, Word Links, Sudoku, Solitaire, Minesweeper, Mahjong Solitaire, Pulse Lock Daily, Memory Flip and Cosmic Merge Drop. Each one is the same for every player and changes at midnight on your device’s calendar. Your first finished result each day is kept and shown on the homepage; later rounds are practice. Sharing a result is optional and never reveals the answer.

Playing on any device

Every game works with touch, and most also work with a keyboard. Each game page lists its keyboard and touch controls, and every game has pause, sound and full-screen buttons. Pages load quickly because the games, fonts and images are served from our own server.

Scores, streaks and privacy

Personal bests, recent games, your daily streak and your sound and theme choices are saved in your browser on the device you use. They are not linked to an account and do not follow you to another device. Read how storage and analytics work.
